2025/2026 Executive Board

For the 2025/2026 academic year, we’re thrilled to welcome a passionate and dedicated executive team, ready to support and empower the undergraduate members in reaching their goals. We’re looking forward to an incredible year ahead and can’t wait to see you at our events!

MICHAEL.BRAY

President

Michael Bray

Michael is a third-year Political Science student from Fort McMurray, Alberta. He has been heavily involved in a plethora of community initiatives on campus, and this is his first year as President of UofCPLS. Beyond school and the Pre-Law Society, Michael works full-time during the summer at a mid-sized firm in Fort McMurray and part-time for his non-profit, Legal Lifeline. Michael is incredibly excited about all the opportunities UofC Pre-Law will offer students this academic year and looks forward to meeting everyone! His long-term goal is to work as a Crown Prosecutor before leveraging his legal expertise to pursue commercial real estate development.

 

Fun Fact: Michael never misses a day in the gym!

TYLER.ZOPPI

Co-President

Tyler Zoppi

Tyler is a fourth-year Political Science student from Kelowna, British Columbia. Outside of his studies and commitment to the Pre-Law Society, he works full-time over the summer as a sales manager, focused on developing the next generation of high-performing sales representatives. He is incredibly proud to help connect UofCPLS members with legal professionals accross a wide range of fields in Calgary. Tyler's long-term goal for his future in law is to build a lengthy career in corporate litigation. 

Fun Fact: He has been an avid skier since the age of 5!

FLETCHER.GUTY

VP Events 

Fletcher Guty

Fletcher is a third-year political science student from Calgary, Alberta, with a growing track record in politics and public service. He began working on political campaigns at 17 and later interned in Ottawa with the Conservative Party of Canada, gaining firsthand experience in federal politics. His interests go beyond the political sphere—he’s also active in acting and modelling, building a creative portfolio alongside his academic and professional pursuits. In his spare time, Fletcher enjoys skiing and playing rugby, and he’s committed to giving back through his volunteer work with Gems for Gems, a charity focused on supporting survivors of domestic abuse.

Fun Fact: Fletcher is a pro at Arial Silks!

YASMINE.YILMAZ
VP External

Yasmine Yilmaz

Yasmine is a third-year Political Science student with a Law & Society minor from Chestermere, Alberta. She is passionate about advocacy, policy, and the intersection between law and society. She is absolutely thrilled to be serving as VP External for the UofC Pre-Law Society this year and moving throughout her journey at the University of Calgary. Beyond her involvement with the UofCPLS Yasmine is an active member of the UN Fellowship where she continues to build on her legal research while advocating for victims of domestic violence. As VP External, she is eager to connect students with professionals all across Canada's legal network and help expand their reach.

Fun Fact: She is (very) distantly related to the Ottomans—so diplomacy might just run in the blood! 

SOPHIA.REYES

VP Finance

Sophia Reyes

Sophia is a second-year Political Science student from Taber, Alberta, and this is her first year serving as VP Finance. She has a special interest in politics and Albertan energy and hopes to continue her education at the UofC Faculty of Law upon graduation. Prior to university, she served as a member of Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides’ Youth Council and volunteered for various community initiatives back home. Now, she volunteers for the Pro-Bono Law Association of Alberta and other Calgary-based charities and works part-time. She is beyond excited to make insights into law more accessible to undergraduate students and looks forward to working with her executive team, club members and legal professionals this year. Besides her academic pursuits, she loves to read, run, hike, and travel. 

 

Fun fact: She doesn’t love shin splints, but shin splints love her!

PEARL.PRATICO

VP Marketing

Pearl Pratico

Pearl is a third-year Law & Society major with a minor in Business at the University of Calgary. Ecstatic to assist the UofCPLS as VP of Marketing, she hopes to connect with like-minded students and help bridge the gap between the UofC undergraduate community and the greater legal field. Pearl is passionate about legal advocacy and strives to enact real-world change to improve the livelihood of individuals in marginalized communities. Outside of UofCPLS, Pearl has been involved in various non-profit projects and loves to be creative through her lifelong passion for dance and creating choreography. Pearl also enjoys spending time outside skiing and hiking, as well as discovering new restaurants to try. As VP of Marketing, Pearl is thrilled to expand UofCPLS’ message and is excited to see where this club goes.   

 

Fun Fact: Pearl loves a good spin class!

OLIVIA.SWAIN
VP Communications

Olivia Swain

Olivia is a third-year Political Science student with a minor in Law and Society at the University of Calgary. She is from Airdrie, Alberta and this is her first year acting as VP of Communications. Outside of her academics, she works with a non-profit organization dedicated to helping vulnerable youth. Olivia hopes to one day pursue a career in Family Law and to continue to make a positive impact on the lives of adolescents. In her spare time, she snowboards in the Rocky Mountains, rides motorcycles, and coaches minor hockey. She is excited to connect and engage with legal professionals and diverse individuals with an interest in justice and the field of law.

Fun Fact: Olivia completed all her grade school education in French!
